Air Conditioning for Schoolrooms

Share

I sympathize with the complaints of funding problems in the LAUSD. But to complain about the lack of air conditioning seems ridiculous. I am a sophomore and throughout my years in L.A. schools, heat has never stood out as a major problem. For me and a lot of students, school can be unbearable for other reasons.

Maybe if we used the $7,000 per room for air conditioning on other aspects of education, students would actually enjoy school and wouldn’t worry about air conditioning. For example, the schools need books and other materials, better trained teachers, less crowded classes, etc. The temperature of the classroom shouldn’t come before the quality of education!
