It won’t be just another performance for the Moorpark Masterworks Chorale Sunday at St. Paschal Baylon Roman Catholic Church in Thousand Oaks. Directing the 90-voice chorale will be world-renowned conductor Roger Wagner.

Wagner, a Westlake Village resident, founded the Los Angeles Master Chorale in 1964 and has toured worldwide with the group, as well as being guest conductor of numerous chorales and symphony orchestras.

Wagner will direct the Moorpark Masterworks Chorale in performing the “Requiem,” by Faure. In addition to the “Requiem,” several Renaissance sacred motets will be performed, including “Alma Redemptoris Mater” in Gregorian chant, followed by “Cantate Domino” by Hassler, “Super Flumina Bablyonis” by Palestrina, “Vere Languores” by Victoria and “Jubilate Deo,” an eight-part choral work with brass and organ by Gabrieli.
