A serial bank robber struck for the third time in a week Friday, bringing his holdup total to 13, police said.

The robber, who has worn baseball caps during many of the holdups, entered the Glendale Federal Bank branch at 1910 Garnet Ave. in Pacific Beach at 2:05 p.m., police spokesman Bill Robinson said.

Robinson said the man entered the bank and waited in line. When he got to the window, he showed the teller a demand note written on white-lined paper. The teller could only remember that the note said the robber had a gun, Robinson said.

The robber escaped with $271, which he put in a maroon briefcase with gold latches, Robinson said.

This time the robber was wearing a black or dark blue baseball cap that was on backwards; round, wire-rimmed sunglasses; a gray, long-sleeved shirt with black buttons going up the front and black pants.
