FUNDS FOR ALL: Education foundations in Orange County have raised from $25,000 to $200,000 for entire districts (B1), but the one at San Clemente High School manages to raise $25,000 to $50,000 a year for its school alone. . . . Unlike most, the booster group contributes to all school activities, not a particular sport or program. Says Principal Jim Krembas: “We couldn’t do without them.”
Money for Schools
The county has 10 district-wide education foundations, composed of volunteers working on behalf of the schools. The four with the biggest budgets in 1988-89 (in thousands of dollars):
Fountain Valley: $150
Laguna Beach: $132
Newport-Mesa: $60
Irvine: $55
