Flow of Marines Back From Gulf to Grow

The number of Marines returning from the Gulf to Orange County continues to grow, as about 400 servicemen and women are scheduled to arrive at El Toro today and 1,317 more are expected by next Monday, officials said.

The following is a schedule for the Marines’ arrival:

Today, 398 Marines from Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 367 are scheduled to arrive at 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. They will board buses for Camp Pendleton.

On Thursday, 105 Marines from All Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 121 are to arrive at 1 a.m. Also scheduled at 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. are 210 Marines from Fighter Attack Squadron 314.

On Friday, 366 Marines from Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 369 are scheduled. They will go to Camp Pendleton. On Saturday, 146 Marines from the Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 367 are due at 6:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. They also will go to Camp Pendleton.

An additional 140 Marines from Heavy Helicopter Squadron 462 are expected to arrive at 8 and 11 p.m. They will, then, board a bus for Tustin Marine Corps Air Station.

On Sunday, 280 Marines from Heavy Helicopter Squadron 462 are scheduled to arrive throughout the day. They will board a bus for the Tustin base.

Next Monday, , 70 Marines from Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463 are expected to arrive at 5:30 a.m. before leaving for the base in Tustin.
