President Bush’s Successful War

Share

We have had American flags flying from our house and cars ever since the war started. Our schedules were dictated around attending support-the-troops rallies. And yet we’re not celebrating this so-called victory. What kind of victory is this when Saddam Hussein is still in power? It’s a failure and we feel cheated for supporting our President and then having him leave the situation open to where the allies will probably have to return to face Hussein in another few years.

Everyone compared this situation to World War II with Hussein playing Hitler. When we pushed the Germans out of France, Poland, Russia, Czechoslovakia and other countries, we didn’t stop at the German border, we marched right into Berlin. The Allies kept going until Berlin was theirs. We should have done the same thing here--kept going until our tanks were rolling down the streets of Baghdad! We wouldn’t have to take over the city, just stay long enough to let Iraqis know who won this war.

We won’t be out at the parades honoring the returned servicemen and women because we don’t believe that they finished their job. We’re going to save our energy for their next trip to the Persian Gulf--and with Hussein left in power, we probably won’t have to wait too long.
