Mattel Wins Round Against Swedish Doll Maker: A federal judge in Los Angeles granted a temporary restraining order to prevent Lundby of Sweden from broadcasting or distributing a television commercial that was scheduled to air beginning today. In its complaint, Mattel Inc. alleged that the commercial promotes Lundy’s Petra doll as a friend of the famed Barbie doll and prominently features a Barbie doll. Barbie is marketed by El Segundo-based Mattel.
