Procter & Gamble to Expand Oxnard Plant

Share

Procter & Gamble Paper Products Co., a division of consumer products giant Procter & Gamble Co. of Cincinnati, said last week it plans a $100-million expansion at its manufacturing operations in Oxnard, where paper tissue and towels are made. The expansion will create more than 200 full-time jobs, increasing the plant’s payroll by about $7 million a year and doubling its production capacity.

Construction will begin by the middle of this year, P & G said. New operations are expected to start in mid-1992 and full operation is expected by 1993.

The Oxnard plant, purchased by P & G in 1973, produces Charmin bathroom tissue, Bounty paper towels and Citrus Hill orange juice.
