Fifty members of a Navy search-and-rescue unit are scheduled to return from the Mideast on Tuesday, officials with the Naval Air Reserve at Point Mugu said.

The estimated arrival time for the unit is 6:45 a.m. at the Naval Air Station at Point Mugu.

Members of Detachment One, Helicopter Combat Support Special Squadron Five (HCS-5) are one of two Navy reserve squadrons in the country that do combat search and rescue, Petty Officer Joe Parker said. Typically, they fly over enemy lines to rescue American pilots who have been shot down or crashed, he said.
