Teamsters Reach Agreement: The tentative agreement between the Teamsters union and the nation’s biggest trucking employer group would raise pay and benefits in the freight industry by 12.3% over the next three years, the union said. The so-called National Master Freight Agreement, which was tentatively settled last week, provides increases in wages and benefits of $2.50 an hour over three years starting April 1, the Teamsters said. The increase includes $1.40 in wages and guaranteed cost-of-living adjustments and $1.05 in contributions to the union’s health, welfare and pension plans, it said.
