Jury Awards Fired Bank Official $6.3 Million: A former Bank of California executive who said he was fired because he refused to disclose confidential information to the bank’s Japanese owners has won a $6.3-million judgment. A jury returned the verdict in favor of Sigitas Banaitis, 54, who had been employed in the bank’s Portland branch from 1981 until his departure in December, 1987.
