Chrysler Won’t Comment: The Wall Street Journal and some Japanese media reported that Chrysler Corp. and Mitsubishi have been involved in talks that could restructuretheir 50-50 partnership in Diamond-Star Motors Corp. in Normal, Ill. Chrysler wants to slash costs and Mitsubishi wants to increase its penetration of the U.S. auto market. A dealon Diamond-Star could help both auto makers achieve those objectives. Chrysler had noofficial comment on reports that it sought to reduce its stake.
