Adolfo Cruz Reta has been hired as community development director for Monterey Park to replace Margo Wheeler, who resigned as planning director in December.
Reta currently is community development director of Bell, a position he has held since 1989. Prior to that, he was community development director of Cudahy for two years. He will begin working for Monterey Park April 2 and will receive an annual salary of $68,064. He will oversee the city’s urban planning and design, building and safety, and property maintenance departments.
Reta holds a law degree from Western State University College of Law in Fullerton.
