World IN BRIEF : ROMANIA : 2 Cabinet Ministers Quit Over Economy

Two members of Romania’s Cabinet resigned over Prime Minister Petre Roman’s handling of the economy. Finance Minister Teodor Stolojan, 47, and Minister of State Anton Vatasescu, 51, quit hours before discontented citizens staged a protest against price increases scheduled to take effect April 1. A government aide told reporters that the two resigned after Roman rejected their plan for more radical economic reform.
