A Visalia man has been charged as the second suspect in the rape and slaying of an 11-year-old girl. Bobby Joe Marshall, 18, was charged with the 1988 slaying of April Holley just days before the trial of the first suspect was to begin. The trial for Charles Keith Richardson, 28, was delayed until April 1 due to Marshall’s arrest. Richardson lived in the Marshall home in the fall of 1988 and Marshall testified during Richardson’s preliminary hearing. Richardson was charged with sexual assault and murder in December, 1988, after Holley was discovered drowned in her family bathtub.
