NO JOKES: The new president of the Orange County Bar Assn. (D4) says a top law school graduate starting at a leading law firm in Orange County can probably expect to be paid $65,000 to $70,000 a year. Andrew Guilford says top beginning pay goes up each year. “If you put it on a graph, it would be a straight line” upward, he says. . . . A county official says starting pay for new deputy district attorneys and public defenders is $45,448 a year.
