Each year, the “Concert in the Park” series at Warner Park draws more and more people, proving to honorary Woodland Hills Chamber of Commerce member Rosemary Bell that it is a worthwhile program.
“People love to hear the ethnic bands and classical concerts,” she said. “Our biggest problem has always been getting the word out to people. But not any more. These days, people call us and ask when the next concert is going to take place.”
Last summer, Bell said, many of the free concerts drew several hundred people.
“They set up their lawn chairs and bring a picnic supper,” Bell said. “It’s a wonderfully relaxing time.”
The park is also a primary place for lunchtime exercise buffs who work in Warner Center. Each day, dozens of workers can be seen walking around the park in their business clothes and tennis shoes, Bell said.
