Dorothy Anna Casper; Real Estate Broker

Dorothy Anna Casper, a retired Glendale real estate broker who was involved in civic affairs, has died at a Glendale hospital. She was 75.

A longtime Glendale resident, Mrs. Casper died Monday of lung cancer, said her husband, Karl Casper.

Born in Bridger, Mont., she came to California in the late 1940s. She worked in real estate in Glendale from the mid-1950s until her retirement in 1986.

She was president of several organizations, including the Glendale Board of Realtors in 1981, the Zonta Club of Glendale in 1979-80, the Glendale Business and Professional Women’s Club in 1975-76, the Presidents Advisory Council in Glendale in 1974, Glendale Beautiful in 1974 and the Glendale chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors in 1971. She was also a member of the California Assn. of Women’s Council of Realtors, Women’s Civic League of Glendale, Glendale chapter of Toastmasters International, Republican Women’s Study Club and Women of the Moose.

In 1977, she was named Woman of the Year by the Glendale Chamber of Commerce and received the Glendale News-Press Woman of Achievement award in 1978.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years; daughter Barbara Young of Glendale; one brother; three sisters; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral, with burial to follow, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Hills, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive in the Hollywood Hills. Forest Lawn Mortuary, Hollywood Hills, is handling the arrangements. Donations can be made in Mrs. Casper’s name to the Glendale Memorial Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Center, 1520 S.
