Atlanta outfielder Deion Sanders suffered a cut above his nose before the game when he was hit by a ball that was fouled against the net of the batting cage. . . . The Dodgers played Wednesday’s game with only eight pitchers. Bob Ojeda was sent to Los Angeles to prepare to start in the home opener Friday, and Kevin Gross was already in Los Angeles for the same reason. But Gross’ start was moved to Saturday because of the rainout. . . . Joe Amalfitano has given his uniform No. 8 to Gary Carter, who has worn the number for much of his career. Amalfitano will wear No. 12.
