BellSouth Unit to Buy McCaw Cellular Systems: A subsidiary of BellSouth Corp. agreed to buy mobile telephone systems in 18 Midwestern markets from McCaw Cellular Communications Inc. for a total of $410 million. Atlanta-based BellSouth and McCaw, the nation’s largest mobile phone company, were rivals last year in the fierce fight for control of Lin Broadcasting Corp., a cellular phone company with television broadcast holdings. Kirkland, Wash.-based McCaw eventually won control of Lin.
