Media General Inc.: The newspaper and broadcast company reported income of $2.4 million for the first quarter, 12% less than in the year-ago period. The Richmond, Va.-based firm had $145.47 million in revenue, 2% less than last year. Media General said profits at its newspaper and television operations remain under pressure because of a sluggish advertising climate.
