Strawberry Field Preservation Praised

Share

* Re the article “Strawberry Field Forever? Disney Can’t Buy the Farm” (March 31): I say hooray for the Fujishige family! It warms my heart to know there are still those who care more for the land and family than money. We need open land in this county, not more entertainment centers.

After spending a few days in Orlando, Fla., where I had the distinct impression that Disney “owns” the town, I am heartened by the Fujishige family’s refusal to sell their strawberry field.

The whole city of Orlando could more aptly be named “Disney World,” and I don’t want to see that happen in Orange County.
