Hotels in Hawaii Offer Free Rental Cars With Bookings

Share

Hotels in Hawaii are continuing programs that provide free rental cars for the same number of days that travelers book rooms or condominiums at regular rates.

Colony Hotels & Resorts is offering free use of a Budget rental car at 12 hotels and resorts throughout the islands until Dec. 22 through its “Paradise on Wheels” program. Hawaiian Pacific Resorts provides a Budget car at seven hotels in Honolulu, Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii until Dec. 22.

Outrigger Hotels has a “Free Ride” program in effect until Dec. 19 that covers 26 hostelries on the four major islands, most of which are at Waikiki Beach. The majority of cars are furnished by Dollar Rent A Car and Budget.

Aston Hotels & Resorts is continuing a policy that it started last year of offering Budget cars for $9 per day if travelers pay the regular room rates at 28 of its properties throughout the islands. Ask for an “Aston Fun Book” at check-in. There are separate booklets with discount coupons for a variety of activities. One booklet is given per party.

Under these promotions, cars come with unlimited mileage. Gas is charged to the rental person, and cars must be returned with a full tank. Insurance and other coverages are optional. Cars are usually automatic compacts and subcompacts, some with air conditioning.

Discount coupon booklets can also be obtained by renting Budget cars, regardless of length of rental. Different booklets are provided on each island, with coupons to sightseeing attractions, restaurants and assorted merchandise at participating stores.
