2 Men Identified in Murder-Suicide Case
Los Angeles police on Monday identified two men found dead in a Sepulveda apartment as Oscar Valdez Alvarez and Carlos Hernandez Vargas, two friends who apparently made a murder-suicide pact.
The two men were discovered about 6:35 p.m. Sunday in the bedroom of a ground-floor apartment in the 8100 block of Langdon Avenue, Lt. Warren Knowles said. Investigators believe Vargas, 39, shot and killed Alvarez, 25, before turning the gun on himself.
Knowles said there was no apparent motive for the shootings. A suicide note signed by both men asked for forgiveness from God and family members, but provided few details as to why they wanted to die, Knowles said.
