Pacific Telesis Group: The telecommunications company reported first-quarter net income of $266 million, up 1.5% over the same period last year. Revenue inched up less than 2% to $2.41 billion. The San Francisco-based company said it had an increase in access lines and usage, but the rate of growth was down from previous years.
