Case Dismissed: A U.S. District judge in Ohio has dismissed a $250-million lawsuit against CBS, saying Ohio’s one-year statute of limitations expired before James Burt filed the action. Burt, 68, a former gynecologist accused by female patients of performing genital surgery without their permission, accused CBS’ “West 57th” of defaming him in a program broadcast Oct. 29, 1988. He said the program, which featured interviews with former patients, destroyed his personal and professional life.
