The Secret’s Out: For the first time, the Soviet Union’s KGB has agreed to cooperate with Western filmmakers shooting a documentary series about the secret service organization. Richard Price, chairman of Primetime Television, the British production company making the six-hour series, said KGB officials will permit access to files and video clips “which do not affect the security of the state.” What that entails remains to be seen. Primetime is nearing completion on a six-hour documentary on the CIA that will air on Britain’s BBC next year and shortly afterward on the Arts and Entertainment Network in the United States.
