Claremont Professor Wins $6,000 Fellowship
George T. Felkenes, professor in the Center for Politics and Policy at the Claremont Graduate School, has been awarded a $6,000 Faculty Fellowship by the John Randolph Haynes and Dora Haynes Foundation, which awards fellowships to Southern California faculty members for social science research projects.
The grant will fund preparation of a book on diversity and affirmative action in law enforcement agencies.
Last year, Felkenes published a study, based on a survey of 1,000 officers in the Los Angeles Police Department, that found officers’ opinions on their own lives, jobs and values weren’t affected by their sex or race.
