Disbarred: A federal judge dismissed the racketeering portion of comedian Roseanne Barr’s $35-million lawsuit against the National Enquirer but her attorney vowed to press ahead. U.S. District Judge Ronald S. W. Lew ruled Monday in Los Angeles that the lawsuit failed to meet requirements of the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. The lawsuit accuses the Enquirer of paying someone to steal intimate letters Barr sent her husband, Tom Arnold. Barr’s attorney said the ruling would make little difference in the damages she and Arnold could win, as other charges remain in place.
