Suit Filed Against Software Consortium: The Addamax Corp. of Champaign, Ill., sued Cambridge-based Open Software Foundation and two of its members, Digital Equipment Corp. and Hewlett-Packard Co. The computer software company’s suit alleges that the foundation arranged to sell software made by another company, SecureWare Inc., to 70% of the computer market, thereby shutting out almost all competition. SecureWare Inc. sells software designed to make computer systems safe from outside tampering. It alleges that the foundation gave a competitive advantage to Hewlett-Packard and Digital by dictating policies favorable to them.
