70 Imperial S&L; Employees Laid Off: The Resolution Trust Corp. has laid off about 70 Imperial Federal Savings & Loan employees, but the federal agency has retained about 350 employees who are charged with selling off the San Diego-based institution’s remaining $3.4 billion in assets. Imperial’s remaining employees will remain with the RTC “on an interim basis,” RTC spokesman Kevin Shields said.
