Importing the ‘Abortion Pill’
Thank you very much for your recent editorial supporting the importation of and follow-up research on RU-486 (“Why a French Firm Is Scared by America,” April 21).
One word from the President could bring RU-486 to this country for research for cures for currently deadly diseases. His paranoia about women and abortions is killing people. It is truly ironic that he is willing to let people die to stop abortions.
Bush has no hesitation in suggesting that parents have choice in selecting schools for their children. Why should women be denied choice in matters of personal health? And why should all people be denied a choice of a cure for many now-incurable diseases?
One other reason for denying access to RU-486 is that RU-486 abortions would be private and Operation Rescue would have fewer health clinics to blockade and harass.
