Boeing Co.: The Seattle-based jet maker reported first-quarter earnings of $309 million, up 2.3% from the year-ago period. Sales fell 5.3% to $6.09 billion. The company said it had lower earnings from its commercial transport segment because of lower sales of 747s and greater research expenses for its 777 program.
