A Clown Is Found: Red Skelton’s $50,000 portrait of a crying clown, which he painted for his dying son more than three decades ago, has been recovered by police. The painting “Bright Eyes” was stolen from the Pagliacci Gallery last May. Newport Beach police said the painting was retrieved from the office of a Manhattan Beach attorney of a woman whose identity wasn’t disclosed. The name of the attorney also was withheld.
