Wendy’s International Inc.: The fast-food chain said its first-quarter earnings rose 70% to $5.91 million, reflecting improved profitability at its restaurants and efforts to attract new customers. Revenue increased 2% to $246 million. The 1990 results included an extraordinary gain of $499,000 from early retirement of debt.
