Tenneco Inc.: The diversified industrial corporation reported first-quarter net income of $1 million, compared to $134 million for the year-ago period. The Houston-based company had revenue of $3.3 billion, down from last year’s $3.6 billion. The company said it was “hit hard by the recession in the first quarter, especially farm and construction equipment, container-board products and chemicals.”
