3 Ex-Officers Receive Jail Terms in Beating
A former Maywood police officer and two former Orange County sheriff’s deputies were sentenced to two months in jail Tuesday for beating and threatening an inmate after an off-duty night of drinking.
One-time Maywood policeman Michael Elliott, 32, and former Orange County deputies Ivan Budiselich and John Rice, both 26, were ordered to perform 250 to 275 hours of community service and were placed on three years’ probation for the March 23, 1990, cellblock attack.
All three have lost their jobs. They were convicted of felony assault under color of authority.
