The Native American Indian Inter-Tribal Assn. of Ventura County will award two scholarships to high school seniors enrolled in the county’s Indian education program.

A $500 scholarship will be given in memory of Phillip A. Rodriguez, a Chumash Indian and longtime Ventura resident who died recently, said Floyd O. Beller, chairman of the association.

A second $500 scholarship, the association’s annual college scholarship, also will be presented at the group’s awards ceremony and potluck dinner May 15 at Anacapa Middle School in Ventura.
