Argentina’s leading sports magazine reported that a drugged Diego Maradona was arrested in an elaborate trap baited with a blond policewoman. El Grafico, citing a police report, said Argentine narcotics agents had been watching the soccer star since November, 1989, when he played host to a multimillion-dollar party in Buenos Aires to celebrate his marriage.
Police said details in the magazine “do not correspond to reality,” adding in a statement: “Events leading to Maradona’s arrest will be revealed through the courts.”
