An armored car company has offered a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of two men responsible for last week’s $500,000 robbery outside an Inglewood bank.

The reward was offered by Loomis Armored Transport Co. after one of its guards was pistol-whipped while delivering money to First Interstate Bank on Crenshaw Boulevard at 113th Street.

The robbery occurred around 11:30 a.m. last Thursday when two men surprised the guard in the bank’s parking lot. The robbers, who also sprayed a chemical like tear gas into the guard’s face, took two bags of cash and fled on foot, police said. The guard, who has not been identified by Loomis, was treated for his injuries at the scene.
