Amkly Selling Memory Unit to Xtend Micro

Share

Amkly Systems Inc., the Irvine-based computer company, said it is selling its computer memory board business to Xtend Micro Products Inc. in Irvine. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Albert Wong, president of Irvine-based Amkly, said the business being sold to Xtend is viable but that his company wants to concentrate its resources on its line of personal computers, which were introduced in March. “I cannot fail in the computer systems business because I will only get one chance,” Wong said. “This is strictly a strategic decision.” Xtend makes its own line of boards used to boost the storage capacity of personal computers.
