South Pasadena : School Savings Proposed

Share

The financially strapped South Pasadena Unified School District could save as much $100,000 over the next year in transportation and maintenance costs in a proposed joint program with the city, City Manager John Bernardi said.

Bernardi, who announced the plan at Wednesday’s City Council meeting, said the city and the school district could jointly contract for landscape maintenance services.

In addition, the city could provide the school district with a “youth bus” financed through Proposition A transportation funds. That bus would be used to transport students to and from sporting events, he said.

He said he would try to provide the council with a complete cost-savings analysis within the next month.
