The Twins and the Boy Scouts

Share

Interesting headline “Scouts: Twins Win, God Loses” (April 26). Let me assure you, God never loses. The real losers in this case are the Scouts and the twins, not God.

As far as the oath goes, I don’t understand all the rancor on the part of the twins. I simply would not join an organization with which I did not agree. They should have joined an organization that already reflected their values and beliefs (or unbeliefs in their case).

If they couldn’t find one, they should have started their own club for little atheists. (Interesting word, atheist, kind of a contradiction. Everyone has a belief in some god; whatever the guiding force of your life, that is your god. For example, some people are motivated by money and greed, so their god is Mammon.)

The attorney father’s quote, “A bunch of adults have messed it up for a bunch of little kids,” is ludicrous! The Randalls are the ones who have messed it up for everyone else. Kudos to the Scoutmaster for canceling the meeting when Randall attempted to turn it into a circus.
