A small group of protesters interrupted a pro-border patrol demonstration in San Ysidro on Saturday, resulting in the arrest of two counter-demonstrators during the clash, police said.

Jesse Trent, 27, and his 17-year-old stepson were arrested during the rally at Dairy Mart Road, a half mile west of Interstate 5.

The 17-year-old youth, who was among the protesters who arrived about 12:40 p.m., began arguing with several pro-enforcement demonstrators and a scuffle ensued. The youth was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace. Trent was arrested and charged with battery after he tried to interfere with the arrest. Another counter-demonstrator was also detained, but was later released.
