Concern Over Satanism

Share

I am a survivor of ritualistic childhood abuse. As a result of recovering my memories of these terrifying and uncomprehensible events, I have become a useful member of society and have attained a respectable position in the criminal justice system. I believe that I could contribute even more if I combined my personal experiences with my professional expertise. However, a sensationalistic article such as this one gives me pause because I would surely then be labeled as “crazy.”

The link between ritualistic childhood abuse and future criminality needs further study. It is being shown that many on Death Row who have committed nightmarish crimes were subjected to horrifying abuse as children. In the short run, it is easier to pretend that these bad things do not happen. But, ultimately, education is the only road to crime prevention.
