TUSTIN : Hearing on Base’s Future to Be Held
An eight-member federal panel studying the recommendations of Defense Secretary Dick Cheney on the closure of military bases will take testimony regarding the Tustin Marine Corps Air Station on Wednesday in Los Angeles.
The Tustin helicopter base was among 31 facilities recommended for closure as part of a plan to reduce military spending. The Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission will consider each of the bases and pass on its recommendations to the President.
The hearing on the Tustin base will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the Kinsey Auditorium at the California Museum of Science and Industry, Figueroa Street and Exposition Boulevard.
