Girl, 16, Foils Man’s Kidnaping Attempt
A man stepped naked from his car and tried to kidnap a teen-age girl in a residential neighborhood here on Tuesday, authorities said.
The 16-year-old girl, whose name was withheld because of her age, broke loose from her attacker, who fled, said Lt. Richard J. Olson, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident occurred as the teen-ager was walking in the 17100 block of Leafwood Drive. The man drove a burgundy, two-door Pontiac, Olson said.
“The suspect, who had no clothes on, got out of his vehicle and confronted the victim,” Olson said. “He then grabbed her by the wrist and tried to drag her into his car.”
The teen-ager, who was uninjured, broke loose and ran away, while her attacker fled in his car, the lieutenant said.
The man was described as being in his mid-20s with short brown hair and blue eyes.
