Compton : Outgoing Councilman Filer Throws Support to Bradley

Share

Outgoing Councilman Maxcy D. Filer of Compton wants Omar Bradley to replace him as the representative in City Council District 1.

Bradley, a Lynwood High School teacher, led a field of District 1 candidates in last month’s municipal elections but did not win enough votes to avoid a runoff. In the June 4 runoff he will face Pedro Pallan, a local bakery owner and the first Latino to receive enough votes to make it into a runoff election in Compton.

Filer has represented the 1st District for about 15 years but his term expires in June. He ran for mayor but was defeated last month by Walter R. Tucker III, son of the former mayor who died last fall.
