Corona de la Valle, a 10,000-square-foot estate on the Del Rayo Estates in Rancho Santa Fe, is the site of the 18th annual Designers Showcase, through May 27.

The event is sponsored by the San Diego Historical Society in cooperation with the American Society of Interior Designers, San Diego chapter.

This year’s showcase house is on 4 1/2 acres overlooking the ocean and the San Dieguito Valley. A gated entry opens to the landscaped grounds and orchard surrounding the Spanish-style estate.

Interior designers had carte blanche in decorating the living and entertaining areas, seven bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, kitchen, butler pantry, three-room guest retreat and a separate guest house. Attention was also paid to the swimming pool, spa and tennis court.

The showcase is open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Fridays; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The showcase is closed Mondays except Memorial Day, when it will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tickets are $12 per person at the door. No parking is available at the showcase house, but shuttle service will be provided from Del Mar Fairgrounds.

No children under age 8 will be admitted. Proceeds benefit the San Diego Historical Society and educational programs of ASID. Call 232-6226.
