Two suspended USC football players and another man will stand trial on felony charges stemming from a string of robberies in Westwood and Redondo Beach, Judge Richard G. Berry of West Los Angeles Municipal Court ruled in a preliminary hearing.

Safety Howard McCowan of Carson and cornerback Marcel Brown of San Diego and Garlyn Coleman of San Diego will be arraigned on May 20 in Santa Monica Superior Court. The three men are being held on $100,000 bail. They face one count of kidnaping and four felony counts of robbery and assault with intent to commit great bodily harm.

The men were arrested by Torrance police last month after allegedly attacking and robbing a Redondo Beach man.

Police allege they also attacked and robbed three men in Westwood the same night. In some of the attacks, the victims were forced to give up cash and automated teller machine cards.
